By a letter dated 17 February 2011, EA confirmed the status of CERTALARM within EA.
Following the consultation within the Certification Committee in 2009, the European co-operation for Accreditation made the positive decision to accept CERTALARM as a Scheme covered by the EA MLA.
17th May 2010: CertAlarm takes off.
The first certificates are issued.
For the fire and security products, industry can now apply for the CertAlarm Quality Mark, the only mark endorsed by the European Co-operation for Accreditation.
In 2009 some of the Industry Members of Euralarm granted loans to finance the working capital and the start-up costs for the operational phase of CertAlarm. The success of CertAlarm is dependent upon the acceptance of the CA Mark in the various countries of Europe and local partners (certification bodies and test laboratories executing the certification scheme) are very important to obtain such acceptance, priority was therefore given to increasing the number of partners.
