CertAlarm now accepted in France / CertAlarm désormais accepté en France

The French testing and certification body CNPP (Centre National de Prévention et de Protection) recently released a new version of APSAD rule R81 for intrusion detection. The CertAlarm certification scheme is now recognized according to the requirements set up in Annex 2 of R81. Therefore, CertAlarm certified security products can now fully be accepted as an alternative to NF-A2P products and NF Service & APSAD approved installers can issue a “declaration of installation”. Why system 5 product certification makes the difference

CertAlarm’s president Wouter Blom explains why the CertAlarm rules require a system 5 certification scheme combining factory inspection, quality management review, product testing and ongoing surveillance in one package.
What is system 5 product certification?
To certify products is in principle an independent possibility. Everybody is entitled to declare that a product is meeting some mentioned specification(s). Even the supplier or manufacturer himself may issue such a certificate. Of course such a self-declaration is of little to no market value.

CertAlarm’s General Manager, Anja Kinsky, will present “CertAlarm and its progress on a pan-European certification scheme” on Thursday 18th June at 14:15 in the Security Solutions Theatre. Anja will also be available in the morning at the stands of Applus (one of the CertAlarm Certification Bodies located at Firex, booth number D150) and later at the Intertek booth (another CertAlarm partner, located beside the FIREX VIP Lounge at Booth F145) for meetings and general information.
